Free Shortbread Recipe - Foolproof.. perfect everytime

Ingredients:
310g of plain flour
100g of caster sugar
227g of butter (set to room temp)
20g of icing sugar
(AN EXTRA 30g of sugar for dusting)

What you will need:

Large Mixing Bowl
Kitchen Scales
Quiche Tin or Cake Tin (please note if using a cake tin you will need to make a grease proof liner)
Large Wooden Spoon
A Fork
A oven tray for you to sit your cake tin on to make it easier to lift in and out of the oven

Method

Pre heat your oven to 180 degrees

1.)Mix your flour and 100g of caster sugar and icing sugar in a bowl
2.)Work in the butter filtering it through your fingers to get it really rubbed in
(don't us an electric mixer or you will work it too much)
3.)Put the mix into a 9" diameter flutted edge quiche tin (preferably silicone)
see mine below that i got free from baked and delicious

flatten the mixture down to get an even spread in the tin. I prefer to do this by using the back of a wooden spoon.
4.) Prick holes using a folk over the top of the mixture then sprinkle with sugar
5.) Bake in the oven for 25 mins, keep checking as different ovens will have different timings i would check from 20 mins if you dont have a fan assisted oven
6.) Your Shortbread should just be lighlty golden when cooked, remove from the oven and set aside (important - wait till the shortbread is competely cold before you try and cut it or it will just crumble and fall apart)

This is really a foolproof recipe... perfect every time
You can even bling yours up by adding melted chocolate on top

Enjoy
